Wooden furniture care tips

Clean regularly

Dust and dirt can accumulate on solid wood, and if left unchecked, can cause scratches and other damage. To prevent this, it is important to regularly dust and clean solid wood with a soft cloth or microfiber duster. Wipe the surface in the direction of the grains to avoid cross-grain scratches.

Avoid exposure to direct sunlight

Direct sunlight for extended hours can be harmful to solid wood furniture. It can cause it to fade or change colour over time. To avoid this, it is recommended to keep solid wood furniture away from direct sunlight or to use blinds or curtains to filter the light.

Use appropriate cleaning products

When cleaning solid wood, it is important to use products that are specifically designed for this material. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as they can damage the finish or even the wood itself.

Wipe up spills immediately

Spills and moisture can be particularly damaging to solid wood, as they can cause staining or warping. To prevent this, it is important to wipe up any spills immediately with a soft, dry cloth.

Maintain the finish

The finish on solid wood helps protect it from damage and enhances its natural beauty. Over time, the finish may wear down or become damaged, so it is important to periodically maintain it by applying a new coat of finish or polish. Wax and oil your furniture occasionally to maintain its luxurious lustre for longer and prevent moisture damage.

Avoid extreme temperatures and humidity

Solid wood can be sensitive to extreme temperatures and humidity levels, which can cause it to warp or crack. To prevent this, it is recommended to keep solid wood furniture in a climate-controlled environment.
